Lemi has his own voice. He is a master yawner and he has he's way to get around with this world. He yawns often. He wants to tell you something, its kinda that he's excited or he's telling you "finally you are doing something!". He squeeks when he's unhappy about things. Like if he has to get on a chear so he could watch outdoors and he thinks its too much and he dont want to bother. So he squeeks and peeps away until he notices that we arent listening and he gets on the chair by himself and is happy.

 

He makes a "blurrrrh" sound when he think you are stupid or when he is making a statement of somekind. 

 

He slobbers when he wants something and it truly mean something, not only food. He slobbers when he wants to play, he slobbers when he wants outside, he slobbers when he wants to meet other dogs.

 

Lemi also swings his tail when he is having fun. We have noticed that is the clearest sign if you want to see in what mood he is. Tail swings like mad when he is having a blast. He even swings his tail when he is dreaming. And that is so cute :D

Heya all!

 

Itse been awhile that I've got the energy to put all this what has been happening with Lemi into words. Ok. Here we go :)

 

Its strange how hard it can be sometimes between humans and a little puppy. (Lemi is now btw 6 months!) Its finally looking good. All the fighting (FOR NOW) is all in the past. "All the fighting" means that we humans and Lemi are staring to understand eachothers. Sounds really funny when I say this :D. Now we are getting into a good vibe.

 

Lemi has started to listen what we are saying after all that shouting and showing him who is the boss. And I have FINALLY figured out the fact that our dog is A RETRIVER who LOVES to CARRY things. And IF he doest have ANYTHING to carry Lemi is SLOW(!!!) and is SEARCHING for something to CARRY even POO is GOOD ENOUGH to do the trick. Its has been heaven now when I figured this truly hard thing out :D.

 

As I said, Lemi has started also to understand what we mean with words "NO!", "GO AWAY", "COME", "SIT", "LAY DOWN" and even understand now when we praise him outdoors. Even that hasnt before sink into his thick head. Before he didnt react when we praised him outdoors. And I figured out that the best praise for our dog is to touch/pet him. This is so obvious isnt it :D

 

Lemi has grow alot. I have to add photos of him. He even has a arse nowadays. Dont know if it matches to his brother Jose's behind tho.. Somehow I think not :D

 

Okey some minus... Just to piss us off Lemi has urinated 3 times as a protest when we havent given him food as fast that he wanted. First we thought that he just couldnt keep it in and it was a accident but he did it even that we just had walked him for 30mins. It has stopped for now and I've been more "hard" on him on disciple than I have been. We started to control his water drinking also for now. As it seems that he drinks just for the drinking sake, not for the thirst. Today Lemis drinking has been moderate, so the worry for health issues is off for now.

Hopefully we wont see that protest again.

 

What else....

Oh yeah! Lemi thinks now that every snowman is his friend :)). He wants to play with them :D. Some time ago when we got some new snow, snomen started to pop up again and Lemi was terrified. So I lured him to every snowman we came accross with and then put the snowman full of dogtreats. It didnt take long for Lemi to understand that every snowman has something goodies to give him...

 

Lemi now just learned a new thing: he brings me 1 A4 blank paper and then sits waiting for attention. He has brought me 4 in 10 minutes. He has learned how to buy love :D

Hey all :)

 

Christmas came and went and left Lemi with 2 new toys. Both are squeeky toys, only that piggy sounds a little different than the normal ones: It sounds like a duck quak! No idea how, but must admit that even we human like to squeeze it and get the kicks like Lemi does.

 

Lemi has got some new habits: He loves to steal + carry + play + eat cardboard. He even sleeps with it! Now that there is so much cardboard all around apartment after christmas presents Lemi has really tested my nerves. I try to clean and at the same time Lemi plays and runs away mouth full of cardboard spreading it all over.

 

He also showed some character at my parents house. At the middle of the night he suddenly woken us up by barking so manly. He stood infront the bedroom door looking like a real watch dog! He looked so tough :D. And he is only 5 months old! This happened 2 times and at the second time Lemi refused to go back to sleep. So I had to take him to the bed to sleep. I figured that he was scared and becouse of it that I let him come next to us. He was so tense! But fortunately he falled to sleep quickly.

 

Lemi also got his ass kicked by crapping into my parents house. Luckily for us, daddy saw him in action and really had the chance to let Lemi now that He isnt crapping in any house period.

 

Today our little boy is going to spend the weekend and new year at the breeder. Mainly becouse he gets to be with "dog company". Around these neighborhood where we live there really isnt dogs with who Lemi could hang and learn doggy way of life.

Today we tried our new camera and practised our "stage standing". Clearly my other half (Daddy) got more succesfully Lemi to stand than me. Here is a picture of it.

 

 

By the way my standings were just terrible.  Dont tell the Breeder!

 

But we talked about it and with more confidence about himself daddy wants to take charge about dogshow practising, so I can just dedicate my time with Lemi with obedience and fetching. Which is a big relief to me.

 

Today we also talked about Lemi. About his personality. He's totally different that we have used to. He's more into comfort and using his brains than just running around headless (like our previous dog). Lemi is only 5 months old and has his own opinions already and he's very intependent. But you can see little marks that he leaves about that truly cares that you are around. Like putting his pawn on your leg when you sit next to him. Or that he almost unnoticeable leans on you. Or that when he lies on the floor just beside your leg and sleeps. Lemi just isnt all around you all the time.

 

But whe has slept for hours he get his energyhigh and then he's continually looking for entertaiment. And his entertainment is using his brain. He just keeps thinking how to crack puzzles. And If im not giving him puzzles he get his own. Like how to open that drawer?

 

And finally I have to say... We have gotten an real day rhythm. For a week we havent got to get up at nights to walk Lemi. He's been sleeping all night long. And becouse of that we have trusted him with more freedom. He can sleep in our bedroom and after 6am he gets all apartment for himself. But mainly he sleeps in his cage, his floorpillow and the livingrooms sofa. Sometimes we have woken up when he sleep in our bed...

Its a heaven to own a housetrained puppy! I must say
